Shopping with children can be very challenging and many parents simply do not attempt it. But some shopping you may need your children to be with you and this is especially true for show shopping where they may need to have their feet measured. With children often growing so quickly that they need a few pairs of shoes within a year, costs can very quickly rack up for parents. You can choose to buy shoes from a number of places and they often range from around ten pounds in price upwards of forty or fifty pounds for one pair. Some shops will take more care in measuring your child’s fit and selecting shoes for them that allow from some growing. These tend to be more expensive but you may find that they last a lot longer. They also often sell shoes in widths too meaning you do not have to go up a size making the shoe too long for a child that has wide feet.

It can be hard to understand if the shoes fit the child’s fee properly as they may say they hurt when actually they just feel a little different as they are stiffer or the child has been used to wearing trainers or softer shoes for a while. Always get the child to stand up when checking the fitment and have a little walk around. Make sure the shoe is not slipping off the foot but also has some room in front of the toes.
