Potty training can be a long process and often hard work for both the parents and the child. Some children pick it up really quickly and are very soon not needing nappies or pull ups whereas other children learn gradually over a period of time.

When potty training it is important to think of what clothes a child is going to wear. Items that require a lot of buttons or need to be removed before the child can go to the toilet (such as dungarees) may not be the best choice. You may also need to ensure that you have plenty of spare clothes that you can change your child in to quickly if they do have an accident or ones that you can leave at a nursery for them. Often people advise buying some clothes from a charity shop so you are not having to spend too much money on them and can leave them in a change bag or at nursery whilst still having enough clothing at home.
