Baby clothes are not cheap and it only takes one flick of the spoon for them to be covered in bright orange mush that will stain and could ruin the garment pretty much instantly!

However with the right care your baby clothes can last you as long as the babies growth will allow.

It’s important to consider the fabric and components of a garment when buying clothes for a baby as if it’s not easy to wash and iron then you can guarantee that it’ll only end up getting worn once. Cotton fabrics are always a good choice as they are breathable and can be washed at hotter temperatures if they are stained.

If the garments get stained then it’s best to wash them asap however if you have no time to do it then simply spray with a stain remover product and leave to soak in COLD water. Cold water is much more effective for stain removing as hot water can actually set the stain into the fabric.

For sensitive skin it’s recommended that you use non bio washing detergent however generally these are not as effective at removing stains so if your babies skin is not particularly sensitive then you may want to switch to a biological washing detergent for a better clean.

If cleaned and cared for properly then good quality baby clothes should last the test of time, not to mention lots of washing!
