Many parents struggle financially, especially in the first year after having a baby as one parent may be staying at home to look after the child. Babies need quite a number of different products not to mention clothing and all of these are not cheap.

Nappies, formula and lotions are amongst some of the biggest weekly costs for new parents but often a large amount of the budget is spent on clothing. It is very tempting to get carried away buying a large number of outfits for a baby that are all the same size (most new parents do this). But you will quickly realise that your child grows fast and often when you are packing away outfits they have grown out of you will come across many that have either not been worn or worn once.

I always recommend looking at baby clothes in the sale as there are some great bargains to be had and often if you have only paid a few pounds for it, it doesn’t matter if they do not get much wear.
